Life is.......amazing and such a gift.

This weekend was one of the best weekends of my life. I spent all day Friday with my oldest daughter as she labored and delivered our First Grandchild. A beautiful healthy baby girl.
 moments after she was born.
Her name is Sabrina Winifred and I am so honored to have been witness to her birth.

I'm no stranger to the miraculous process of childbirth (gave birth 5 times!) This however, was very different for me and a memory I will always treasure.

7lb 7oz and perfect!

While my daughter was laboring I went to the hospitality room where they were serving breakfast. Its a buffet, serve yourself but they do ask what room you are in. Someone had entered the room behind me and when they asked what room she was in, she stammered and said "I don't have a room, I'm visiting my baby who is in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit)" as she spoke she lost control of her emotions and began to freely cry. Even now as I type this, I am overcome with emotion. Due to placenta previa I spent 8 weeks in the hospital waiting for my 5th child to be born, I was on complete bed rest.  I had several roommates while in the hospital all struggling to hold on to the little life inside them. Some laying for months in bed. These women would do anything to save the little life inside them. And now, here was this young mother scared, grieving for her little boy.

and yet...in our society, many accept the disposing of a human life because it is an inconvenience.
In Michigan it is even legal
to toss into the trash the remains of aborted babys.

This video does show some graphic material.
Please do not watch it if you have a weak stomach.

I will never understand.

I will never accept this.

Life is too precious....

to fragile....

For my grand baby Sabrina
and for Mason - the baby struggling in NICU
for his mother
for the babies who never got to take their first breath.

I pray ~ our society will stop looking the other way

Thank you ~
For letting me share.

  1. Stopped by from Mr. Geezers.

Life is not only precious, and throwing it out like trash cheapens it, but abortions reduce the number of available babies for adoption. I know so many couples who desperately want to adopt, but there are just not enough babies. Yes, older children need homes, too, but they also come with a host of issues that many folks are not qualified to handle.

  2. AMEN!
    What a wonderful post.
    Congratulations on your beautiful Granddaughter!
I was there with my eldest daughter when she gave birth. I found it MUCH more terrifying than when I was in labor. I hurt so bad for MY baby (my daughter) ~ it was so hard seeing her in labor. But, of course, SO worth it...
