Maximus

A few days before Christmas this year our neighbor's daughter contacted Bill about helping her out with a Christmas surprise for her father and grand-daughter. She had purchased them a pony and was hoping we could keep it at our place and take it down to their farm on Christmas day. Bill agreed and left to go pick up the pony on Christmas Eve. He returned and shortly after I heard his truck pull into the drive way he called me on the phone and asked me to come outside for a few minutes - this should have been my first clue that something was up.  I walked out to the truck and trailer and saw the cutest pony ever with his head sticking out the window. I still wasn't sure why I was outside and he just kept pointing into the trailer and when I finally got close enough to look it was then that I realized just how much his 4 year old daughter had him wrapped around his finger, cause there was a 2nd pony in the trailer.

Yup, these are pictures from Christmas Morning, almost warm enough to be barefoot and in your PJ's and be outside.

Caleb riding "Chris"

Anna riding "Maximus" - he really is a well-behaved little guy.

Oh, and I learned to drive a trailer today! Patting myself on the back. A new found freedom- hmmm..might not have been wise on Bill's part to teach me to drive a trailer and then purchase one- he never knows where I might go with it and what I might end up bringing home!!

On to the next blog post. Gotta catch-up before 2011 is history!

  1. Cute pony, fortunate child; may the worst of 2012 be from the best of 2011. Happy New Year from Thistle Cove Farm.
